Travelers come in droves to visit the Hawaiian islands, so much so that the state’s economy has relied heavily on the tourist industry to sustain itself. Six months after the devastating wildfires in Maui, tourists have begun to think twice about booking their vacations. Is it ethically or morally acceptable to visit Hawaii? Looking at solutions from the perspectives of Hawaii’s local community is perhaps the best place to start searching for an answer.
