The Media Action Network for Asian Americans will be holding its first meeting at UCLA this Wednesday, Campbell Hall, 7 PM to 8:30 PM. MANAA has been fighting for Asian American representation in the media for the past twenty years, and they want to start outreach to student organizations.

We’re a watchdog group that’s been actively fighting for Asian American representation in Hollywood for nearly twenty years. From The Rising Sun to The Last Airbender, we’ve held protests, written letters, and spoken with international media outlets about APIs in entertainment.

This year, we’re focusing on outreach to student organizations just like yours. We’ve recently looked to modernize the organization, including partnerships with groups like Racebending.com.

Our meeting will briefly explain what our organization is about, then delve into how students can support the cause – and tangibly change the future of American entertainment.

If you’re interested in helping put more Asian faces in the media, come out to the meeting. Again, it’ll be on Wednesday, in Campbell Hall, room 3221, from 7-8:30 PM.
