Japanese earthquake victims are still receiving assistance from their friends across the ocean. The Thousand Hearts Benefits Concert will include a collection of singers, artists, and celebrities that hope to raise funds for the victims of the Japanese earthquake. The concert will be on the 23rd of April and will take place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Tickets cost $20, $40, or $60 and all proceeds will go to the victims of the earthquake.
As stated on an email provided by the Asian American Journalists Association:
“Grammy-nominated and internationally-renowned Japanese jazz group HIROSHIMA, featuring international J-Pop star MIKA TODD and MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew Season 3 Champions QUEST CREW, will headline the show. Other performers include hip-hop violinist and international YouTube sensations PAUL DATEH & KEN BELCHER and adult-contemporary rock band CURD.
Confirmed dignitaries in appearance include Japanese Deputy General Consul
YUSUKE SHINDO and Consul TOSHIO ODAGIRI, U.S. Congressman MIKE HONDA, City of Pasadena Councilman STEVE MADISON, and Mayor of the City of Riverside (sister city to the City of Sendai in Japan) RON LOVERIDGE.
Confirmed special celebrity guest appearances include LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS
(Courage Under Fire, Young Guns, La Bamba), MARK DACASCOS (Iron Chef America, Hawaii Five-O, Brotherhood of the Wolf), BRIANA EVIGAN (Sorority Row, Step Up 2: The Streets), JULIA LING (Chuck, E.R., Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip), DANTE BASCO (Take the Lead, The Debut, Hook), and NICK GISMODI (FanFare, Nick’s Doing What).”
