No thanksgiving celebrations for owners of various Chinese restaurant in Maine will be held this year as a number of them are heading to prison after law enforcement launched a raid. Starting about a week ago, police have cracked down on four restaurants. Owners have been charged with crimes such as money laundering, tax violations, and employing illegal immigrants. The restaurants were owned by a company called Zhang Operations, headed by Zi Qian Zhang and his wife Ai Hui Lu.

A investigation started after neighbors complained about Lu’s residence. Police reported that 18 undocumented immigrants were discovered living in abysmal conditions in the basement.
