Hyphen Magazine and The Asian American Writers’ Workshop are hosting the fourth annual Asian American Short Story Contest.

This contest, with a grand prize of $1000, publication in Hyphen magazine, and the honor of short story of the year, is open to all writers of Asian descent living in the United States or Canada. This contest will name eight finalists, one runner up, and one grand prize winner. The judges this year include Yiyun Li, the 2010 MacArthur Genius Award winner and author of A Thousand Years of Good Prayers, and Porochista Khakpour, author of Sons and Other Flammable Objects.
